What is Whole Food Plant-Based Nutrition?

Plants are full of the richest sources of nutrients the human body needs to thrive. Fruits and vegetables provide us with antioxidants, phytochemicals, flavonoids, fiber, enzymes, and essential vitamins and minerals. A plant-based diet provides all the good stuff our bodies need to be healthy and strong! Overwhelming  research shows that eating more plants and fewer animal products can help prevent or even reverse many of the worst chronic ailments of our time. And if that’s not motivating enough, plant-based diets benefit the environment, too!

What do I eat?

It’s pretty simple: whole, unrefined, plant-based foods. In its simplest form that's it! But I will of course give you detailed information what you should include in your diet and what to avoid, and how you should prepare your food to get the most benefit!

All About Me

I started my plant-based journey inspired by my good friend who had kept a chronic, debilitating illness at bay by this way of eating for more than 15 years, even though she was told she'd be in a wheel chair within 5 years! My father had his first heart attack in his early 40s and two of my brothers died as a result of heart conditions and life-style in their mid 50s and early 60s. I had a very high blood pressure, which was controlled by 3 different pharmaceuticals. I thought this was the way it was going to be for me with my family history. Inspired by my friend I changed my diet to Whole Food Plant-Based way of eating, practically overnight. I had to contact my GP within weeks as my blood pressure was plummeting. They told me to start reducing the medication slowly, but I had to cut them out quite quickly as my BP was just too low! This was very pleasant surprise, as I had not anticipated it. But of course, I now know better. I got immersed into the WFPB lifestyle and wanted to learn more (I worked in Pharmaceutical Industry for 17 years and have very analytical mind)  . I first enrolled to the Cornell University/Dr Colin Campbell's Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate Programme and after successfully finishing that I also completed the Winchester University Plant-Based Nutrition Course. I am also a qualified CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Programme) Facilitator.  Let me guide you to enjoy the same benefits as I have, as they say, your genes are not your destiny!
